2021 - Present
Macroeconomics 2nd year UG
This module builds on the first-year Macroeconomics module, EC108, and deepens the understanding of how modern economies function and how macroeconomic policy is designed and applied. It covers both closed and open economies and studies how the choices of households, firms, and governments shape economic outcomes over time and across countries. The module focuses on the main forces behind economic growth, inflation, unemployment, and international trade in today’s global economy. It introduces the core models used by economists to analyse these issues, which form the foundation of modern macroeconomic research and policy work. Throughout the module, economic theory is closely connected to current debates and real policy challenges. This approach helps develop strong analytical skills and a clear understanding of how macroeconomics is used to explain economic developments and inform policy decisions.
